Cockatoo Island has a long history dating back to the first settlement.
From a convict prison to an industrial school for girls to Australia’s largest shipyard, the
island has played a significant role in the development of Sydney and the nation and has
now become a movie set for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a location for a film festival
and a race track once a year for professional dirt bike racing.
